Seriously don’t know where to start with summing up this incredible dog portrait meets commercial photo shoot!  Huey and Alvin were an absolute breeze to work with, and mom H. did such a great job giving direction (and cooking up the steak bites which turned these two pampered pooches into pure putty in our hands! yumm…steak!)

This was one of those RARE sessions where both dogs posed like professional models (well actually better than some of the commercial dog models I’ve worked with, haha!)

One of my favorite shots, a fine art style black and white portrait… what a handsome Shar Pei…

And perhaps my other favorite shot of the day… mid yawn and totally precious!

Obviously we have to mention the amazing apparel and designer dog collars these two upscale pups get to sport on a regular basis…

Alvin & Huey are seen here wearing Hilary Lamon Designer collars, and obviously living the lifestyle of true luxury… I was simply amazed with these collars- stunning! The attention to detail, and incredibly high quality of these collars really blew my mind!  It’s really about time someone put this kind of artful design, quality, and luxury into collars for the larger breed dogs!  Be sure to check out: http://hilarylamon.com for more drool worthy designs like these collars seen on Huey and Alvin!

Oh the energy of this one year old chocolate lab puppy!  I wish I could bottle it up and sell it…. errr use it for myself :-)   Such a playful personality and a bubbly attitude that just wouldn’t quit!  The photos from this session are going to make one heck of a Christmas Gift (and sure to be one that will be cherished for years to come- good call girls, I’m sure they are going to LOVE this!)  Here are a couple shots to preview while I get the rest of them edited up for you gals…. Enjoy!

Thanks so much “M” Family for chosing us for your holiday gift giving needs! There were so many awesome shots to pick from I had a difficult time deciding on which ones to use as previews on here- I just know you are going to LOVE checking out all the adorable shots we got of the pups (and the fam photos turned out great too!)

Your personal mini “gift” site can be found here: http://MalarichFamily.pinkparrotphoto.com :-)

Rocky was such a little HAM! This handsome pint sized 5 year old Chihuahua posed just like a professional during our photo session today! He might be tiny, but he makes sure all know who the head of this house is! Such a sweet disposition- I just couldn’t help falling in love with Rocky… Also, mom said the stage quite well with a gorgeous home to shoot inside of, and provided his super cute sweater which was a nice touch too!  Here are a couple previews from Rocky’s portrait session!

I couldn’t help myself- just had to post this shot where he jumped clear out of the photo frame when I wasn’t expecting it!  It was like shooting photos of a dog on springs for a moment there :-)

Busy time of year for us, but wanted to make sure I got a couple photos posted! (More to come from Peyton’s shoot later today!)

Copper and Tandy were…. umm… ok HOLY cuteness!  What else can you say about a pair of Rhodesian Ridgeback puppies!  At just 13 and 16 weeks old, these cute little munchkins were so much fun and had such great little personalities to capture.  Now throw in two absolutely adorable human sisters and a doting mom & dad– and you get one heck of a great family to photograph!  Here are a few sample pictures from our family portrait session today…. Enjoy!

This weekend I got to work with sugar and spice and everything nice and she was called Cinnamon!  What a sweet little face on this SUPER tiny Pomeranian/Chihuahua pup!  She just loves when mom dresses her up (and mom gets quite a kick out of it as well ;-)   I absolutely LOVE when I get to work with parents who have this kind of creative flair, and have so many great set, outfit, and pose ideas ahead of time.  Here are a couple of my favorite shots from our fabulous pet photo shoot with this adorable bundle of joy!

Keeping the upcoming holiday season in mind… perhaps some pet portraits on the greeting cards this year? ;-)

Delightfully decked out and dazzling in her rhinestone charm collar and oh-so cute outfit!

There is just something about Mastiff puppy portraits that makes you go…. “Awwww!”

So, today I arrived to this shoot with a smile and feeling like the photographer I am- and left laughing, drooled on, and feeling like a chew toy, lol (j/k)!  Budkis (the super handsome, sweet, playful, and brindled Mastiff puppy- and YES he’s still a PUPPY!) ended up showing his approval at the conclusion of our photo session with a big old sloppy wet kiss (right on the side of my face and clear up the lens of my camera! haha!)

Wrigley is the stunning Weimaraner with the thousand expressions (I just love all the weimaraner faces- but perhaps I’m a little partial seeing as I have 2 in my family?)

And, a special note to mom (“Y”), you should know that it was also fantastic to work in such a lovely home and yard today! The gorgeous fireplace made for such a great backdrop for the photos, so glad you thought of shooting there. Also, the portraits on the couch were accented so nicely with the warm tones of the area rug- I think it really added something eye-catching and unique to the photos.

Here are a few of the fun shots we captured during our mini photo session with Belleua, a fiercely cute BULLDOG with such a sweet and laid back disposition!  Can’t wait to shoot with her again (and hopefully soon!)

Totally Exhausted and covered in Drool?  YUP!  That about sums it up for this week.

I’m actually not sure if I’ve ever shot photos of so many absolutely adorable Bulldogs and Shar Pei’s in one week, and with the excitement of all these furry faces… came A LOT of drool! :-)

I just wanted to share with everyone some of the adorable little faces that we’ve worked with this week, enjoy!

Mac and Layla just LOVE running around outside (and quite frankly- what dog doesn’t?!) and their huge Naperville, IL backyard made for such a great backdrop for an outdoor photo session!

Mac is a sheppard and mastiff mix, and although a bit of an older gent- that certainly didn’t stop him from running around and chasing tennis balls being launched with slingshot across the yard!

Layla is a 3 year old labaraner…. a what?!  A lab and wiemaraner mix :-)   and the sweet, and oh-so-energentic sister of my own precious Rossi.  (although Layla ended up with such an elegant and sleek look to her compared to little Rossi’s funny characteristics!) haha!

We are excited to be working on a new project with one of our commercial clients, and this time we have an immediate need for wrinkled and “saggy” looking dogs!  This particular commercial photo shoot will have both video and photo stills so we also need to make sure that just the right dog-personality is used.

We’ve been asked to track down some of our professional dog models who might fit the bill, and it’s been suggested that we concentrate on the following:

Chinese Shar Pei  & Bulldogs  (the more rolls and wrinkles the better!)

So, in addition to submitting our professional crew of Shar Pei and Bulldog pet models… we would like the opportunity to open up for the possibility of using a new face for this project!

If you, or someone you know has a very wrinkley dog that you think just might fit the look for this project… let’s talk ASAP!

Call the studio: 872-AAA-PICS (872-222-7427) or shoot us an email with your contact info, a little about the dog (name, age, breed)… you can use the snazzy contact link at the top of the page :-)

THANKS!

“Ruby’s Tale” a true rags to riches story By: Pat Bettendorf

First and foremost, a special thanks to Ruby and Pat Bettendorf for mentioning their photo shoot with Pink Parrot Photo at the Pet Photography studio in this book!

Second, we SO appriciate the copy you recently sent to us! :-)

Ruby is such a lovely soul, and we cannot wait to work with her again sometime very soon!

We met Ruby because she was a winner in the Milk Bone “Spokes dog” competition promotion, and Del Monte Foods contacted Pink Parrot Photo photographer Candace Zynda to set up a photoshoot in Chicago for the winners.  We had a commercial pet photo shoot  for all three winners, and Ruby absolutely stole our heart!

A beautiful (inside and out) rescued brindle pitbull has such a sweet disposition, overall attitude, and charm, Ruby Bettendorf is truly one of a kind.  This book will make you laugh and make you cry within minutes, and adopted dad Pat is a true lover of all things dogs- which all of us pet lovers can not only relate to, but completely admire when it comes to the circumstances of Ruby’s life.
