I wish I could say I had a weekend off to spend in the backyard with the “kids” from dawn til dusk… however it was lovely to have a few hours of down time this weekend to hang out, relax and enjoy some sunshine and cool summer treats.  Midori loves fruit, not big on eating her veggies but fruits of all kinds thrill her to pieces!  I cannot believe I’ve never given her watermelon until today!  Maybe because it never lasts long in my house?  But today while sitting out and getting a bit of sun (and eating a big slice of chilled watermelon) she started saying “Mmmm-mmm…” which is her way of begging for something mom’s eating.  I gave in (as I usually do) and gave her a small piece.  Well that went WAY too quick, and she was chatting away and super excited begging for another taste…. I’ve created a monster!   :-)

Of course I’m constantly snapping pics of all my kids (and pretty much every plant and critter in my giant backyard and gardens)  so I took this as a perfect opportunity to snap and showcase some new parrot portraits.  You can find out more about Midori and avian photography services on her page.
